A quick guide to launching your new brand identity

You’ve Got a New Brand Identity, Now What?

How exciting! You invested time and money, made the big decisions, and now you’ve got a shiny new brand identity that feels so you. But… what now? Where do you even begin when it comes to using your new logo, colours, fonts, and visuals out in the wild? Don’t worry, I’ve got you.

In this blog post I will guide you through a practical step-by-step guide to help you roll out your new branding with confidence, consistency, and start showing up unapologetically.

Let’s launch your new brand identity with ease!

1. Get Familiar with Your Brand Files

First things first, let’s take a look at what you’ve been given. Inside your final brand folder, you’ll likely find a selection of different file types. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • PNG: These have a transparent background, perfect for placing your logo over coloured backgrounds or photos (use on websites, social media, presentations).

  • JPG: These are flattened images, ideal for situations where transparency isn’t needed (use in email headers, blog images, printed documents).

  • SVG: These are scalable vector files, great for websites and digital use where your logo might need to resize without losing quality. These are also ideal to import into Canva as you’ll be able to easily adjust the colours.

  • PDF: These are brilliant for print materials or sharing branded documents (like invoices or flyers).

  • EPS: Another vector file type used mostly by designers and printers for professional-quality print jobs.

If you’ve worked with me, I will have organised these in clearly labelled folders, make sure to save them on your computer or cloud storage so you can find what you need quickly.

2. Update Your Online Presence

Now let's launch your new brand identity. First stop: everywhere your brand shows up online. Here's a quick checklist to work through:

  • Update your website with your new logo, colours, and typefaces. Don’t forget your favicon!

  • Refresh your email signature with the new logo and fonts.

  • Give your social media profiles a glow-up – update profile photos, cover images, bio links, and Story Highlights.

  • Update platforms like Google Business, Etsy, or any other selling or portfolio sites you use.

3. Spruce Up Your Offline Materials

If you use printed materials in your business, now’s the time to give them a refresh:

  • Reprint business cards, brochures, flyers, or stickers

  • Update packaging, tags, thank-you notes, or product labels.

  • If you have signage, uniforms, or vehicle branding, get those updated too.

4. Stay Consistent with Your Brand Toolkit

Your brand guidelines aren’t just a pretty file – they’re your best friend when it comes to staying on-brand. Save a copy onto your desktop to easily find the hex codes for your colour palette or to remind you which font to use.

Make sure your fonts and colours consistently across everything you create. If you use Canva or another design tool, set up your brand kit inside it so your assets are always on hand.

Avoid the temptation to mix in too many new colours or fonts just because they look fun – trust your brand! It was built to reflect you and to be recognisable and professional.

5. Announce Your New Look

Time to show off a little! A brand reveal is a great way to reconnect with your audience and remind them who you are.

Here are a few ways to share the news:

  • Share a before-and-after image or a carousel showing off your new look.

  • Tell the story of why you rebranded and what the change means to you.

  • Add a personal touch: what do you love most about your new branding?

6. Keep It Going: Use Your Brand Daily

Your brand is a living, breathing part of your business. The more you use it, the more natural it feels.

Use your logo, colours, and fonts every time you create something new: a social post, a client welcome pack, a proposal, a product label.

Remember: consistency builds recognition, and recognition builds trust.
