Not Just a Map ; A Story of Community
Before this project, the Granton Waterfront development was full of potential. A place with big dreams but not yet something people could really see or feel.
It existed mostly as plans and outlines, missing that spark of life that helps people connect to a place.

That’s where bespoke illustrations played a big part. The bespoke map turned facts and figures into something you can experience.
It's full of colour, movement, and community. Suddenly, it wasn’t just about streets and buildings, but about people, stories, and possibility.

Now, when you look at the map, you can imagine strolling along the streets, spotting familiar landmarks, or picturing yourself as part of the neighbourhood.
It’s no longer just a development on paper, it’s a place that feels alive and welcoming.
The client review
This is what Monica from Hillside Agency had to say after working together:
We recently worked with Emmelie on an outdoor map for the Granton Waterfront information panels, part of a major regeneration project in Scotland.
Her illustrations really brought the map to life, perfectly balancing charm and clarity. She was a joy to work with - creative, reliable and completely in tune with the project’s needs.
We’re so happy for the care and talent she brought to this work and would love to collaborate with her again!
